The way to discover oil is pretty much absurd.  Way back in the late 1800's Great Britain went into the Oil Business with Shell Oil, then Standard Oil came along with international and global operations.  

Needless to say, the one 'used to' simply discover oil due to, almost literally, well-springs up from the ground...

The Bible and more specifically 'Old Testament / Torah' explains that some other tribes blessing was 'oil', or someting...

With that said, there are a few options of how to power the Peoria, Illinois Gas Lamp District and what that means for political maneuvers.
